By accessing and using the BigQuery Cost Analyzer ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BigQuery Cost Analyzer is a web-based application that provides:

• Cost Prediction: ML-powered predictions for BigQuery query costs
• Query Analysis: Analysis and optimization recommendations for BigQuery queries
• Cost Monitoring: Real-time monitoring and alerts for BigQuery usage
• Chrome Extension: Browser extension for integrated cost analysis
• Dashboard: Web interface for managing and viewing BigQuery costs

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use the Service to transmit malicious code or malware
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

4. Google Cloud Platform Integration

4.1 GCP Permissions

The Service requires the following GCP permissions:

• BigQuery Data Viewer: To analyze queries and estimate costs
• BigQuery Job User: To execute cost prediction queries
• BigQuery Metadata Viewer: To access project and dataset information

5. Data and Privacy

5.1 Data Processing

The Service processes the following data:

• Query Data: SQL queries you submit for analysis (processed but not permanently stored)
• Metadata: Project IDs, dataset names, table names for cost analysis
• Usage Data: Service usage statistics and analytics
• Cost Data: Historical cost information from your BigQuery usage

5.2 Data Storage

We use Firebase Firestore to store:

• User preferences and settings
• Alert configurations
• Historical cost summaries

6. Service Availability

6.1 Uptime

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Emergency updates or security patches
• Technical issues or outages
• Google Cloud Platform availability

6.2 No Warranty

7. Cost Predictions and Accuracy

You acknowledge that:

• Cost predictions are estimates and may not reflect actual costs
• BigQuery pricing may change without notice
• Actual query execution costs depend on many factors
• You are responsible for verifying costs in your GCP billing console

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by BigQuery Cost Analyzer and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Service or its content
• Use the Service branding or trademarks without permission
• Create derivative works based on the Service

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BigQuery Cost Analyzer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your GCP usage and associated costs

11. Chrome Extension

The BigQuery Cost Analyzer Chrome Extension:

• Must be installed from the official Chrome Web Store
• Requires permissions to access BigQuery console pages
• Communicates with the BigQuery Cost Analyzer backend service
• Is subject to these same Terms of Service

12. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Cloud Platform: Subject to GCP Terms of Service
• Firebase: Subject to Firebase Terms of Service
• Anthropic Claude AI: For query analysis and recommendations

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and conditions.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time by:

• Logging out of your account
• Uninstalling the Chrome extension
• Revoking OAuth permissions in your Google account

13.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• Your use poses a security risk
• Your use is illegal or harmful to others
• We are required to do so by law

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Displaying a notice in the Service
• Sending an email notification (if applicable)

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
